Photographer Mr. Nakagawa’s partner is the Peugeot Coupe 407. It’s the kind of car that seems better suited for the extraordinary than the everyday, but apparently, Mr. Nakagawa uses it for his daily work as well, with his gear packed tightly into the trunk.
With his stylish sense of fashion and choice of accessories, you can tell Mr. Nakagawa is someone with a keen eye for detail. Because it’s him behind the wheel, I got the impression that he’s not just being driven by the Peugeot Coupe 407, but truly mastering it.
Taking such a luxurious machine and using it roughly for work—the way he puts it to use is just wonderful!
The Growing Presence of the "Coupe"
When talking about Peugeot coupes, people often fixate on the 406 Coupe, designed by the legendary Italian house Pininfarina, but its successor, the Coupe 407, is undoubtedly a beautiful car as well. It was born following a full model change roughly nine years after the 406 Coupe was released.
Why did the naming change from "406 Coupe" to "Coupe 407"...? That slight shift might just be a secret message from Peugeot. Such a small mystery, combined with a body that has grown slightly larger than the 406 Coupe, seems to give it an even stronger presence as a coupe.
Seeing a coupe that is more "coupe-like" than ever showing off its expressions through Mr. Nakagawa’s daily use, I’ve found myself wanting to take it for a spin!
The "Coupe" as Everyday Life.
The body is a vibrant dark blue. Blue is a wide-ranging color, but there is something truly exceptional about the special quality of this dark blue. This striking blue, which seems to change its mood every time you look at it, is sure to keep the driver captivated. It’s beautiful under the sun, but it’s a color that would look just as stunning against a night cityscape.
The seats are upholstered in an off-white leather with a subtle gray tint. The high contrast with the dark blue is striking. The dashboard is carefully wrapped in leather, showing attention to detail everywhere you look. It’s a very luxurious build, fitting for a flagship model!
Sitting in the seats feels like being in a lounge. I was shown a high-sense way of driving that brings that feeling of elevation into daily life. Making the Peugeot Coupe 407 a stylish partner for your everyday routine and work—that kind of relaxed choice is what I call cool.
