A long-beloved local Western-style restaurant
On this visit, I stopped by "Homer," a long-established Western-style restaurant in Musashikoganei.
You can reach it from the city center without using the highway; just take a leisurely drive west along the Tohachi Road from Kan-pachi-dori, and you'll arrive in about 40 minutes.
The spacious, two-lane roads make for a relaxing and pleasant drive.
After passing through tree-lined streets that feel typical of a suburb, the "Restaurant Homer" sign comes into view.
In business for over 50 years, this locally cherished restaurant is marked by its brick-style building.
There is a large parking lot in front of the store with space for over 10 cars. Its design makes it easy to use even along a busy main road, so even beginners can park with confidence.

The comfort of savoring each dish.
A line of several groups had already formed by lunchtime.
The blackboard menu posted along the street listed five lunch sets, including daily specials.
After much deliberation, I ordered the A and B lunch sets.
First, a small salad was served.
Next, a steaming bowl of soup was brought over quietly. By the time I finished that, the main course arrived. This careful pacing speaks to the quality of the restaurant. There is no rush; the time spent savoring each dish one by one is truly comfortable.
The set includes a post-meal drink, so I had some coffee.
Served in a stainless steel pot, it was a fragrant cup. Taking a sip of the hot coffee naturally helped me unwind. A calm atmosphere flowed, perfectly rounding off the meal. Taking the time to enjoy a meal without worrying about the clock—that was the kind of luxurious early afternoon this lunch provided.
In the kitchen, a chef in a white uniform moved skillfully, while the aroma of cooking and the sound of metal clinking echoed pleasantly throughout the room. A diverse range of customers, from families to regulars who appeared to be local ladies, gathered around their tables to enjoy their respective lunches.
